4. Account Inactivity and Deletion

To keep our service safe and free of abandoned data, free accounts that have been inactive for 180 consecutive days are automatically scheduled for deletion. "Inactive" means the account has not signed in or otherwise used the service during that period.

Before any account is deleted, we will send up to two reminder emails to the address on file: a first notice approximately 30 days before the deletion date, and a final notice approximately 10 days before. Once the 180-day inactivity threshold is reached, the account is marked for deletion and you have an additional 30-day grace period during which simply signing in will fully restore the account and cancel the deletion.

After the grace period ends, the account and all associated data — including boxes, items, photos, and activity history — are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. This policy applies only to accounts that have never held a paid subscription. Accounts with current or prior paid subscriptions are not subject to automatic deletion under this policy.

You remain responsible for maintaining a valid email address on your account so that inactivity notices can reach you.

5. Photos After a Plan Change

Photo attachments are a feature of our paid plans. If your plan changes to one that does not include photo storage (for example, when a free trial ends without a subscription, or when a paid subscription is cancelled), any photos you have previously uploaded will be kept visible on your boxes and items for 30 days as a courtesy. During this grace period the photos are read-only — you cannot upload, replace, or change them.

After 30 days, those photos and their underlying files are permanently deleted from our systems. Subscribing to a plan that includes photos at any point during the grace period cancels the deletion and restores full photo management.
